Maj. Gen. Perry G. Smith, Adjutant General of the Alabama National Guard, promoted Max Dean to Chief warrant officer five in a ceremony at the Joint Force Headquarters Armed Forces Readiness Center, Montgomery, Ala., Tuesday.
Chief Warrant Officer 5 Dean has been a member of the Alabama National Guard since 1984 and has served as a Warrant officer since 1992. Dean was selected to be the Alabama National Guard’s fourth Command Chief Warrant Officer for the state and began serving in that role in January 2011.
Dean’s wife, Mrs. Joan-Marie Dean, and Maj. Gen. Smith had the honor of pinning the new rank on Chief Warrant Officer 5 Dean in front of many guests which included Dean’s family, several general officers and the commandant of the Warrant Officer Career College, Col. Stanley O. Smith.
